Buying guide for shavers
A shaver is a perfect investment to save time and avoid getting rid of the shaving cream. Unlike a regular razor, you avoid red and irritated skin that often occurs when shaving with a knife. You also do not need to practice the feature, which makes it incredibly easy to use! The downside is that you do not get as close shave as with razor, even if it is very close. This makes it especially important that you choose a shaver that is shaving.
The market has a huge range of electric shavers, where you can choose everything from battery-powered to electric models with a variety of features and functions. The price range also differs greatly, which can differ from a few hundred pounds up to a few thousand crowns. A good news is that most expensive is not always the best - it is just about knowing what you are looking for. Read on in our buying guide to find out everything you need to know before your purchase. Further down the page you will find our shaver best in test, where we present the market's ten top models.
To think about before your purchase
A rule of thumb is that you get what you pay for, because the price will determine its performance and durability. The price can differ from a couple of hundred dollars up to 4000–5000 SEK, however, you can get a really good shaver around the thousand fold. To ensure smooth shaving and quality, we recommend that you choose a model that has become expertly tested. Otherwise, it may also be a good idea to use the trial on-period, as the result may vary on different faces and preferences. To get away as cheaply as possible, we recommend that you buy a shaver reader. In this way, you can escape a few hundred pounds and still get a high-performing model.
You should also consider whether you are looking for a shaver with rotating cutting head or linear knives. The difference in performance is not very different between the two functions, but the result is somewhat affected. With linear knives, you get a better precision shaving, which brings to your look through a careful shave. This suits you, for example, want the precision straight mustache or policemen. Rotated cutting heads move laterally at high speed, which shines incredibly efficiently. This model suits you who want to get shaved beard quickly and easily. In addition, they are generally more silent are shavers with linear knives.
Also notice the difference between water resistant and waterproof shavers. A water-resistant model can handle less water, such as water splashes and the like. If you want to be able to wet or use it in the shower, we recommend that you invest in a waterproof model. Always be careful with the specifications in advance, so you won't come home with the wrong model.
features
Most models today are entirely powered by battery, but of course it is possible to choose electric shavers. The advantage of a battery-powered shaver is that you do not have to rely on a cash withdrawal, while the cord never risks getting in the way. The disadvantage is that the battery life is limited, where we recommend that you choose a model with battery life of at least one hour. This way, it can handle four to five shaves, if you forget to put it on charge after use. Another option is to invest in a shaver that can be used both with and without cord. This means that you always have a back up when the battery is exhausted.
A trimmer function keeps your beard in check, where you easily switch between shaving the portions of the face you want to smooth and trim the beard to be left. If you are looking for a more close shave, you should instead focus on a hair-raising function. This means that the hair strands are lifted before being cut off. If you want to have the best of both worlds, you should of course have a shaver that can do both.
Because the face looks different from person to person, it can be worth investing in a model that can be bent in different directions. This means that the shaver is adapted to the face design, where more hairs are captured for optimal shaving. The more it can bend, the less effort for you.
Different speed modes are advantageous when you want to adjust your shaving along the application area. A low speed level is well suited for sensitive areas, while a fast speed is beneficial when you are short of time.
It may also be worth considering whether you want a shaver with or without an LCD display. The advantage of a screen is that you can enter and change different settings, see relevant information and take note of the shaver's full performance. There you can see, among other things, remaining battery life, indicator for cleaning and much more. If you instead choose a manual shaver, you change settings via various buttons on the device.
