Buying guide for mobile phones
Mobile phones have been around for about 20 years now and if you are one of everyone who was part of the first start, you have certainly been through a number of models. It wasn't as complicated before; Around the turn of the millennium, we had the popular Nokia 3310an, which a few years later was replaced by the Iphone.
Today there are hundreds of models to choose from and which one is best is not as obvious. When you buy a mobile phone without a subscription, the price is particularly important, because you do not have the advantage of a practical installment that many operators offer. It is easy to believe that most expensive has the best features and performance, but when we compare phones, this is actually far from true. Therefore, we have chosen to test a bunch of mobiles in different price ranges that you can find below in our mobile phone test. Before that, we start with an informative buying guide that addresses everything you need to think about before your purchase.
operating System
First and foremost, you should choose which operating system you want, as it reduces the selection to about half. The operating system is the software itself that controls all the phone's settings, functions and apps.
iOS is Apple's own operating system and is only found in Apple's own mobile phones. The biggest advantage of iOS is that you rarely encounter bugs and that the operating system basically always works properly. Should your phone break, you can get back all the information backed up in the Apple cloud. Even updates tend to be faster than Android phones. The downside is that you get little freedom, where you can only download applications from the manufacturers' own App Store service, which is closely monitored and controlled.
Android is developed by Google and can be found in almost every brand (except in Apple phones). The advantage of Android is that the system is open for you to be able to change a lot in the phone and publish your own apps on Google Play. You also get access to your files in the same way you get with a computer and can download applications from a variety of web pages and services. The disadvantage of Android is that you sacrifice a small portion of security because the operating system is not controlled in the same way as IOS. However, you get full access to different files without having to follow rules and standards.
Screen
There are some aspects to consider when it comes to the mobile phone screen. The first is the screen size, which is primarily about the use of the phone. For example, if you want to use the phone to watch movies and do a little easier job, it can fit well with a large screen. If you use the phone mostly for surfing and social media, a medium sized screen will suffice. If the area of use is mostly calls and SMS, it can be good to invest in a small screen - which is also advantageous for saving the battery. But it should also be easy to handle, because for large screens it can sometimes be difficult to hold one hand and the risk of losing it becomes larger. The screen size is measured in inches and most mobiles are somewhere between 4.7 - 5.8 inches.
The screen resolution is another part, which is indicated in the number of pixels. A good cell phone in medium size usually has a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels. If you want a larger screen size, you should also go up the pixel number for a good picture quality. The pixels, as I said, affect the image quality, which is important if you want to watch movies and play games, as more pixels give a sharper picture and more details.
Camera
The camera is really a chapter for you, however, we should try to keep it brief. Since many now use the mobile camera in front of digital cameras, the requirement for camera quality is higher than ever before.
First, you should review the camera's megapixels, which indicate the measure of mobile camera size in number of sensors. The more megapixels the more sensors, which makes it able to capture light and different colors in a better way. What is important to consider here is that the lens should be large enough to be able to absorb enough light. Even if you have a camera with many megapixels, the picture quality will not be better if the lens cannot absorb enough light. This can prove when you are shooting in darkness, for example, where a mobile camera with a small lens with many megapixels does not succeed in a sharp image. Unfortunately, the mobile camera's flash is often not enough to give a really sharp image, however, it can help if the mobile phone is equipped with two photo lamps. On a few models, there is a real xenon flash of the same type that is available in real cameras.
